Dans un texte un peu peu plus fourretout qu’il en a l’habitude, Jim McGee nous offre deux angles intéressants pour analyser les enjeux qui entourent le monde des weblogs.
Le premier angle met habilement le doigt sur la principale force des weblogs: « To plug someone into the conversation ».
« The key to plugging into the conversation in the virtual world is the same as it is in the real world: a friendly guide. A guide can point out where the best rides are and introduce you to all the other friendly people in town. »
Ça me fait penser à « l’art de la rencontre » qu’Albert Jacquard propose comme finalité du système éducatif.
Le second angle, attire notre attention sur les risques qui sont associés à un trop grand focus sur le contrôle de la sécurité lorsqu’on souhaite favoriser l’émergence d’un réseau de weblogs.
« The natural tendency for managers introducing k-logging into organizations will be to worry about boundaries, security, and control. Worrying too much about those issues will limit the value of k-logging and risk marginalizing it. Better to address these issues from the starting point of connectivity and flow that needs to be channeled instead of walls that need to be knocked down. The sooner that k-loggers face the fundamentally public nature of knowledge work, the sooner they will find the value of k-logging for the organization »
…une réflexion qui ressemble beaucoup à la critique que je formulais récemment à l’endroit du ministère de l’Éducation du Québec en rapport avec son document sur le portfolio numérique.
